Women who appear put together have that thing about them. Have you ever looked at someone and asked yourself, what does she do? Well, I got it for you.
Wake up early
We all get the same 24 hours; depending on when you wake up and start your day, you may accomplish more than others. Waking up early creates a habit of discipline. I was never a morning person. But I realized I got more done when I started implementing a 5 am routine.
It took months for my body to get used to the early morning routine. There were times I questioned why and even felt tired around 2 pm.
It does not have to be 5 am, but at least wake up three hours in advance to do whatever you have to do to start your day.
Create a morning routine.
All morning routines do not have to be the same. I shared my morning routine on TikTok, including some of my favorite skincare products.
- Gratitude Journal ( free when you sign up to join the community)
- Skincare
- Morning hygiene
- Stretch ( even if you do not like working out in the morning, try a 5-20 min stretch routine!)
- Make tea or coffee
- Cook breakfast ( remember this is the most important meal of the day)
Some of my skincare products can be found in in my best of Sephora post
Make sure you have at least two-morning routines, a shorter one of the days you wake up later than expected, and one of the planned wake-up times. I have recently incorporated my Bible reading in the morning, even if it is just a verse.
Make time for God.
Put together, Women always have a Godly joy about them. Prioritizing your relationship with God will allow you to bear the fruits of the holy spirit, which are:
- Love
- Joy
- Peace
- Forbearance
- Kindness
- Goodness
- faithfulness
- Gentleness
- Self-control
See Galatians 5:22
Seek first His kingdom, and everything else will fall into place. He is our creator and loves you unconditionally.
Be put together by planning your days
Have you heard that famous quote? My parents used to tell me that growing up while I was in school. You can plan your days out; it does not have to be every hour on the hour, but make your days purpose-filled. I recommend using planners; these can be digital or physical. Until last year, I used physical planners; I just switched to digital ones with my iPad.
Planners can be general or by activity! Make it fun; buy stickers, colored pens, and highlighters. You want to invest in a planner that you find beautiful. It will help you stay consistent.
Check out some of my favorite put together planners.
I love digital and physical planners! Typically, for my physical planners, I browse down the aisles of Target with a beverage from Starbucks. Target has some of the cutest planners, and Amazon does, too. I compiled a list of books and journals in my Amazon shop, which can be found here.
Digital journals to be help you be more put together
I love two websites for this one: Etsy and creative market
You need to find out about the creative market, but if you sign up for an account, you get an email once a month with three free digital products based on your interests. This feature helps you discover new digital stores and browse their additional products.
Check out the Creative Market and create a free account to receive free products or browse journals.
Now for Etsy, which is more known I have these journals that I use for my day to day.
Organize your space
Declutter, reorganize and decorate your living space. It does not matter how small or large you create a safe atmosphere with the space you spend time in. Nowadays, many people work remotely, forcing their workspace to blend with the personal. If that is the case for you, create a sense of separation.
That is something I have struggled with. I only have a little space in my inner city Washington DC apartment. However, I establish rules I can only work on for 9 to 5 while sitting at my desk or couch. I purposely do not allow myself to take my work laptop into my bedroom. Although I will no longer work a 9 to 5 by next year, I plan to do the same with content and my blog.
