Remember when you were little and ran to a parent, grandparent, teacher, or professional when you were in need or in trouble? They had the authority to tell others to do certain things and command the room. Unlock your power and authority in the Bible.
What is authority?
Authority is defined by Webster as The power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience.
Luke 10: 19 God gives us Power from the KJV version and Authority NKJV
One of the Greek translations of power is the power of authority (influence) and of proper (privilege)
Why does this matter? Unlock your Power and Authority in the Bible
The fact of dealing with things falls on you. As harsh as that sounds, it is the reality. Why do we fold when life gets tough by crying, panicking, and relying on fear? Someone with authority knows their rights, and the only way to understand rights to the land here on earth is to read the rule book.
To understand your power:
- Read your bible
- Get in community
- Study bible stories
- Ask the Holy Spirit
- Journal
- Use your mouth/words
Understand who God is.
When you know, that God handles everything when you are his child, and you gain the authority to call out and uproot any spirit that is not of Him.
How do you know what is not of God and you do not know him…
Some spirits that are not of God:
- Sickness
- Disease
- Panic
- Fear
- Anxiety
- Doubt
- Manipulation & Control
- Pride
- Lust
The fruit of having the Holy Spirit is God within you and your help; you can read more about it here.
The worldly thinking will make you think you do not have control over aspects of your life. I struggled with anxiety and panic attacks for years. They played dormant and came back. I tried almost everything that a therapist told me to, and I could not shake it.
Use your words
Tiphani M said something about praying and missing in one of her lives on YouTube. It all made sense to me after that. One day, I was experiencing sleep paralysis for a month. It was at its worst, and I was getting no sleep; I was beyond exhausted.
I cried out to God and prayed every time I closed my eyes and was able to get up. I felt like nothing was working, but I was praying and missing.
You do not have to have the most elaborate or extended prayers, but they do need to be brief.
Order of importance:
- Thanksgiving
- Repentance
- Renouncement
- Replacing
That is the framework I learned from Tiphani; it makes biblical sense. The more you read your Bible, the easier praying will become. It will also be easier for you to reference God’s promises during your conversations with Him.
Learn all of your inheritance
For example, when someone passes away, there is often a reading of the will. Sometimes, that is when families find out what they may or may not get, but when the person is living, they might set up a trust, tell their heirs, and prepare them so that they know their inheritance.
While listening to Megan Ashley’s podcast, one of the pastors she interviewed said that the Bible is like a love letter written to us personally.
In the Bible, you find everything you inherit when you do not live in sin! That is the key: if and when you are in covenant with God, you will inherit all the promises.
Know them!
